INTERNATIONAL OFFICIALS MET MEMBERS OF BiH CEC

Sarajevo, September 28, 2012 –Members of the BiH Central Election Commission met today in two separate meetings with Head of the EU Delegation and special representative of the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Peter Sorensen, USA Ambassador in BiH Patrick S. Moon, first deputy of the High Representative to BiH Roderick W. Moore, Head of the Council of Europe Office in BiH Mary Ann Hennessey and Deputy Head of OSCE Mission to BiH Nina Suomalainen.

The President of BiH Central Election Commission Branko Petrić informed international officials in BiH about activities conducted on administering 2012 Local Elections in BiH, scheduled for Sunday, October 7, 2012.

Special attention was given to elections in Municipality Srebrenica and situation in Mostar City regarding the fact that the elections will not be held in this city.

Members of the BiH Central Election Commission pointed out that the BiH public should not be startled by the news given in the media. It was stressed that the Central Voters’ Register was concluded on August 23 and that all voters found on the voters’ register will exercise their right to vote.

Interlocutors at both meetings expressed satisfaction with the fact that all preparations for administering Local Elections in BiH are going in accordance with planned activities and deadlines.
