PREMATURE FILING OF COMPLAINTS TO ELECTION RESULTS AND REQUESTS FOR RECOUNT

Sarajevo, October 11, 2012 – The BiH Central Election Commission will in accordance with Article 5.29 of the Election Law and the Time line of activities for administering 2012 Local elections determine election results and publish the latter on the web site of the BiH CEC by October 23, providing detailed tabular review of voting results, including results at the level of each polling station with political subjects and candidates. These will be integrated results from regular polling stations, polling stations for voting in absentia, results of by-mail voting, mobile team voting and voting by tendered ballots.

Only after the BiH Central Election Commission publishes determined election results, subjects referred to in Article 5.30, paragraph (1) of the BiH Election Law may within three days submit a request for re-count and that only under conditions and the manner set by this Article. The BiH Central Election Commission now publishes preliminary results and therefore it is premature to submit requests for recount.

In accordance with Article 16.9 of the BiH Election Law, the BiH Central Election Commission deems that these information are significant for voters, participants in the electoral process and the electoral process itself, and therefore it publishes it via public electronic media.
