YET ANOTHER INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS OF THE BIH CENTRAL ELECTION COMMISSION AND IRENA HADŽIABDIĆ

Sarajevo, November 07, 2013 –The BiH Central Election Commission received yet another international acknowledgment for its work after it was elected to the three-member Audit committee for the mandate of three years at the Inaugural Assembly of the World Association of electoral bodies (A-WEB), and Irena Hadžiabdić, member of the BiH CEC, as the chair of this Committee.

Namely, Irena Hadžiabdić and the BiH Central Election Commission are amongst three finalists for the international electoral award in the category “Election management”. It is one of nine categories for which the International Center for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS) from London presents the awards, and the decision is passed by the Board for awarding international election awards.  The awards are presented for the work of key actors in the election process and as acknowledgment of their contribution going beyond the framework of election professionals, practitioners and experts. Irena Hadžiabdić is nominated for her work and contribution to improving the election process not only for the period 2010-2011 when she was president of the BiH CEC; but for her overall engagement in the BiH Central Election Commission.
