Sarajevo, December 14, 2016 – Based on the report on conducted indirect elections for the City Council of Sarajevo from the Municipal Council Novi Grad Sarajevo, the BiH Central Election Commission has today determined the results according to which the mandates in the City Council of Sarajevo are awarded to Gabela Edina, Velić Lana, Fijuljanin Sanela, Peštek Enes, Biber Bajro, Vukadin Toni and Jurić Mira. The BiH Central Election Commission has at today’s session verified nine (9) candidates’ lists from the Municipal Council Stari Grad Sarajevo for election of councilors to the City Council of Sarajevo. There are 28 candidates on the lists. Furthermore, 7 candidates’ lists with 20 candidates from the Municipal Council Novo Sarajevo for election of councilors to the City Council of Sarajevo were certified.
The results were determined after consideration of reports on conducted indirect elections in the Municipal Assembly Pale for the Assembly of City of East Sarajevo and the mandates were awarded to: Škipina Damjan, Gluhović Zoran, Simović Miroslav, Blagojević Nikola, Lučić Vladimir, Pejović Bojan and Koprivica Mladen. The eight mandate will be awarded by a lottery draw on Monday, December 19, 2016 from the Municipal Assembly East Stari Grad (3 lists with 13 candidates) and East Ilidža (8 lists with 23 candidates).
Based on the findings of the audit of political parties’ financial statements from 2014 the BiH Central Election Commission has at today’s session pronounced pecuniary fines to 7 political parties for violation of the provisions of the Law on political party financing.
Fines were pronounced to the following parties:
1. New socialist party 1.000 KM
2. Party of united pensioners 5.000 KM
3. Posavina party 500 KM
4. Social democratic union of BiH 1.000KM
5. Socialist party 3.000 KM
6. Party Advanced Srpska 1.000 KM
7. Party of justice and trust 4.000 KM
In a repeated procedure, the BIH Central Election Commission passed at today’s session decisions on sanctioning of certain candidates and political parties for disruption of electoral process at the 2016 Local Elections in the constituency Stolac.
It was determined that candidate Selmir Kaplan and political subject For better Stolac are responsible for disruption and obstruction of election process in basic constituency Stolac as well as for use of hate speech which could provoke or incite someone to violence or spreading of hatred and therefore the following sanctions were pronounced: name of Selmir Kaplan is removed from the candidates’ list and he is pronounced a pecuniary fine in the amount of 5.000 KM while the members of coalition For better Stolac are pronounced a pecuniary fined in the amount of 5.000 KM each.
It was determined that candidate Demir Mahmutćehajić and political subject Initiative for Stolac are responsible for disruption and obstruction of election process in basic constituency Stolac as well as for use of hate speech which could provoke or incite someone to violence or spreading of hatred and therefore the following sanctions were pronounced: name of Demir Mahmutćehajić is removed from the candidates’ list and he is pronounced a pecuniary fine in the amount of 5.000 KM while the members of coalition Initiative for Stolac are pronounced a pecuniary fined in the amount of 2.500 KM each.
It was determined that candidate Ahmet Ljubović and political subject Initiative for Stolac are responsible for disruption and obstruction of election process in basic constituency Stolac as well as for use of hate speech which could provoke or incite someone to violence or spreading of hatred and therefore the following sanctions were pronounced: name of Ahmet Ljubović is removed from the candidates’ list and he is pronounced a pecuniary fine in the amount of 5.000 KM while the members of coalition Initiative for Stolac are pronounced a pecuniary fined in the amount of 2.500 KM each.
It was determined that candidate Božo Raguž and political subject Croat Coalition for Stolac HSP BiH HDZ 1990 are responsible for disruption and obstruction of election process in basic constituency Stolac and therefore the following sanctions were pronounced: name of Božo Raguž is removed from the candidates’ list and he is pronounced a pecuniary fine in the amount of 5.000 KM while the members of Croat Coalition for Stolac HSP BiH HDZ 1990 are pronounced a pecuniary fined in the amount of 1.500 KM each.
The BiH Central Election Commission has passed today the Decision on reimbursement of tax paid for certification. The political subject that are not included in this decision, and that paid certification tax for participation in the 2016 Local Elections, are not entitled to receive reimbursement of the tax in line with Article 4.16 of the BiH Election Law.
