The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina has at today's session adopted the Statement on commitment to gender equality, which reflects its determination to, within its competencies, respect relevant international conventions and provisions of the Law on Gender Equality of BiH, to advocate for gender equality and to strive to making progress in the area of gender equality in all areas of public and political life.
This Statement is an important step forward for the Central Election Commission of BiH, which was also committed to observance of the Law on Gender Equality of BiH and international norms and principles of gender equality during the previous period, but is also a valuable tool for members and all employees of the Central Election Commission of BiH, who will follow the framework of this document in their daily operations as a plan of measures for integrating the gender perspective into the work of the Central Election Commission of BiH.
The Central Election Commission of BiH once again expresses its gratitude to the partner organizations - the Agency for Gender Equality of BiH and UNDP and UN Women, which have with the support of the Government of Sweden facilitated significant capacity building of the Central Election Commission of BiH since the beginning of implementation of the project “Women in Elections in BiH” 2018.
