Repeated elections in Doboj and Srebrenica
Today, February 21, 2021 repeated elections are being held for the mayor of the City of Doboj and Assembly of the City of Doboj at 89 polling stations and mayor of Srebrenica Municipality and Municipal Assembly of Srebrenica at 28 polling stations (26 regular polling stations and two polling stations for voting in absentia in Gradačac and Živinice).
Polling stations have been opened this morning at 7 a.m. and will be closed at 7 p.m. tonight. Slight delays occurred at several polling stations due to technical reasons.
Election silence lasts until the closing of polling stations, namely until 7 p.m. tonight
In accordance with Article 14.1 of the Election Law of BiH, repeated elections are conducted on the basis of the same candidates’ lists and the same excerpt from the Central Voters’ Register that were used in the annulled elections.
Repeated elections in Doboj and Srebrenica are supervised on behalf of the Central Election Commission of BiH by 130 supervisors who have been trained and certified through a test in accordance with the adopted Training Program and Methodology determined and adopted by the BiH CEC.
The BiH Central Election Commission reminds the election administration in Doboj and Srebrenica that Article 17.1 of the BiH Election Law stipulates, inter alia, that representatives of international observers, citizens' associations, political parties, coalitions, lists of independent candidates and independent candidates may observe all election activities if they are accredited in accordance with the Election Law of BiH.
Article 17.2 of the BiH Election Law stipulates that observers, during the observation of the election process, shall not interfere with election activities and shall respect the secrecy of the ballot.
Any different action of election commissions and polling station committees is a violation of the BiH Election Law.
The BiH CEC will publish turnout of voters at the repeated elections in Doboj and Srebrenica by 11 a.m. at noon.
