30th Annual Conference of Association of European Election Officials (ACEEEO)

The 30th Annual Conference and General Assembly of the Association of European Election Officials (ACEEEO) was held in Romania (Bucharest) in the period from September 28-30, 2021 bringing together around 120 participants either online or in person.

“Youth participation in elections” and “Campaign and financing” were the topics of the conference that was attended by dr. Irena Hadžiabdić, member of the BiH Central Election Commission and Ermin Kos, Head of Sector for Elections and ICT of the BiH CEC Secretariat. Representatives of the BiH Central Election Commission were actively participating in the sessions and had delivered final observations.

The reforms achieved in the last two decades regarding the financing of political parties were discussed, and it was concluded that all ACEEEO member countries are going through many challenges in reforms, but are committed to continuing to modernize their financial reporting systems to ensure greater transparency.

In addition to election management bodies, the role of other organizations and institutions is important in this work, especially monitoring groups that can help achieve better and more detailed control.

As every year, the conference gathered a large number of representatives of election management bodies from all over Europe and the world, as well as representatives of international organizations (UN, IFES, OSCE/ODIHR, A-WEB and others)
