The BiH CEC members Dr. Irena Hadžiabdić and Ms. Vanja Bjelica-Prutina participated in important conferences
The Global Forum for Democracy entitled "The Role of Election Management Bodies in Democratic Governance" was held online on November 24 and 25, 2021. The forum was organized by the National Electoral Institute of Mexico in cooperation with the Venice Commission, the Kofi Annan Foundation, IFES and the Organization of American States.
The aim of the Forum was to analyze and to discuss the main problems and challenges facing democracy in the first decade of the 21st century.
“Democracy, elections and election management bodies” is the name of the panel in which the presentation was given by Dr. Irena Hadziabdić, member of the Central Election Commission of BiH. Mrs. Vanja Bjelica-Prutina, member of the Central Election Commission of BiH, also participated at the conference "Politics without violence, for a society without violence" organized by UN Women in BiH, as part of the project "Women in elections in BiH", funded by Sweden, and implemented by UNDP in cooperation with UN Women, held in Sarajevo on November 29. 2021.
“Equal and Safe Opportunities: Preventing and Stopping Violence Against Women in Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina” was a thematic session in which Ms. Bjelica-Prutina spoke at a panel discussion on the competences of the BiH Central Election Commission.
