Sarajevo, May 21, 2022 – In accordance with the Instruction on deadlines and sequence of electoral activities for the 2022 General Elections, the deadline for submitting applications for certification of political parties and independent candidates to participate in the 2022 General Elections, which will be held in Sunday, October 2, 2022 expired yesterday at 16:00 hours.
Within the prescribed deadline the BiH CEC received 108 applications of political entities. The application for certification to participate in the 2022 General Elections was submitted by 91 political parties and 17 independent candidates.
A preliminary review of the submitted applications was published on the website of the Central Election Commission of BiH, www.izbori.ba.

In line with the Decision on the introduction of overtime work, work on weekends and night work adopted by the Central Election Commission of BiH, this weekend is working for all employees in the Secretariat of the Central Election Commission of BiH and a very extensive and demanding verification procedure for signatures of support to the political subjects to participate at the 2022 General Elections has commenced.
The Central Election Commission of BiH will, in accordance with the prescribed deadlines, verify and certify the applications of those political entities that meet the legally prescribed conditions, whereafter the conditions for submitting applications for certification of coalitions or lists of independent candidates are met. That is, the deadline for submitting applications for certification of coalitions and lists of independent candidates is from June 6 to June 14, 2022 until 16:00 hours.
