Sarajevo, 03.03.2025– The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina has today submitted the Final Report on the pilot projects for introducing new technologies into the electoral process, along with the Feasibility Study for the introduction of specific electoral technologies, to the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This submission is done per the Conclusion of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, dated December 3, 2024.
On the day of the 2024 Local Elections, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina implemented four pilot projects to test various electoral technologies. These included: Voter Authentication and Results Transmission, Optical Scanners and Ballot Counting, Biometric Identification and Voter Authentication, and Video Surveillance at Polling Stations. These pilot projects were carried out in 24 constituencies across 456 polling stations.
This marks the first time that advanced electoral technologies have been used at polling stations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
