TWO-DAYS CONFERENCE „2012 LOCAL ELECTIONS – ANAYSIS OF ELECTORAL PROCESS” STARTED

  Sarajevo, April 12, 2013– Conference under the title “2012 Local Elections – Analysis of electoral process” started today on Jahorina. The conference is organized by the BiH Central Election Commission and it gathered around 200 participants (members of local election commissions, representatives of political parties, elected officials and foreign guests). The conference was opened by Mr Branko Petric, president of the BiH CEC, and Ambassador Fletcher M. Burton, Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH addressed the participants of the conference.
„Election management bodies” and „Protection of electoral right” are just some of the topics that will be discussed through the workshops of the conference.
The member of the Republic Election Commission of Serbia, Mr. Milorad Gašić participated in the work of the conference, where presented his work on “Position of national minorities in the electoral system of Republic of Serbia, with special focus on local elections on the territory of the AP Vojvodina, held in 2008 and 2018”.
The mayors of municipalities Novi Grad, East Ilidža, Ilidža and Domaljevac/Šamac also presented their experience in the election campaign for the 2012 Local Elections.
The conclusions of the conference will be distributed, as a final document, to all election management bodies in BiH and other interested participants of the election process, and they will also be available on the web site of the BiH CEC, www.izbori.ba .
The BiH Central Election Commission organizes this conference in cooperation with the OSCE Mission to BiH, Council of Europe and Association of Election Officials BiH.
