CERTIFICATION OF POLITICAL PARTIES TO PATICIPATE IN 2014 GENERAL ELECTIONS

Sarajevo, June 05, 2014 – The BiH Central Election Commission has at its 27th session held on June 5, 2014, while considering reports on conducted checks in accordance with the provisions of the BiH Election Law acceded to certification of political parties and independent candidates for participation in the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina scheduled for October 12, 2014.

Out of total 69 applications for certification of political parties the BiH Central Election Commission has certified today 53 political parties for electoral units and bodies of government for which they meet the conditions set forth by the Law. All 24 applications of independent candidates have been certified since the application meet the conditions set forth by the Law.

The application for certification of political party Blast of the left (loc. Udar Ljevice) was rejected since the political party was not registered with the competent court by the expiry of the deadline for submitting application for certification to participate in the elections.

Remaining political subjects that have not been certified today the BiH Central Election Commission will deliver notices to remove, in accordance with the BiH Election Law, shortcomings in their application within two days following receipt of the notice. The shortcomings mainly related to insufficient number of valid signatures of support, missing proof that the government stamp was paid and similar.

The review of certified political parties and independent candidates will be available by tomorrow at latest on the web page of the BiH Central Election Commission www.izbori.ba.
