CERTIFICATION OF CANDIDATES AND CANDIDATES' LISTS
Sarajevo, August 07, 2014 – The BiH Central Election Commission has at today’s session pursuant to the Report on verification process of candidates’ lists and candidates of political parties and coalitions certified to participate in the 2014 General Elections, and following expiry of the deadline to remove all shortcomings, acceded to verification of the candidates’ lists and candidates that meet the verification conditions set forth by the law.
The BiH Central Election Commission received 753 candidates’ lists with total of 7892 candidates.
Having in mind the large number of candidates' lists and candidates, number of certified candidates' lists and candidates will be announced tomorrow after all data are update and additional verification is done.
Until August 28, 2014 the BiH Central Election Commission will publish all certified candidates’ lists in the official gazette and in the media, but also on the web site www.izbori.ba .
The BiH Central Election Commission has today, pursuant to the Report on verification process of political subjects that applied to participate at the early elections for Mayor of Laktaši municipality and Mayor of Srebrenik Municipality, certified political subject that meet the conditions set forth by the law.
The following political subjects are certified to participate in early elections for Mayor of Laktaši Municipality:
- Alliance of independent social democrats -SNSD-Milorad Dodik
- SDS-Serb Democratic Party
- Serb Progressive Party
- People’s Democratic Movement
The following political subjects are certified to participate in early elections for Mayor of Srebrenik municipality:
- SDP-Social democratic party of BiH
- SDA- Party of Democratic Action
- Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Union of Social Democrats – Union for all of us
The BiH Central Election Commission has rejected application of the independent candidate Ibrišimović Omer to participate in the early election for the mayor of Srebrenik municipality, since he did not meet the conditions set forth by the law (insufficient number of signatures of support and no proof on paid tax).
Following the public procurement procedure, the BiH Central Election Commission passed today decision according to which the seat of the Main Center for Counting will be in the Olympic Center Zetra in Sarajevo.
