Vanja Bjelica-Prutina, president of the BiH CEC participated in the meeting of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council and the heads of international organizations in BiH
President of the BiH Central Election Commission Mrs. Vanja Bjelica-Prutina has today, via a video link, participated in the meeting of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council (SB PIC) and the heads of the leading international organizations in BiH.
During the meeting Mrs. Bjelica-Prutina delivered a presentation of the situation concerning organization and the conduct of the 2020 Local Elections in BiH.
A special acknowledgment for the presentation followed after the meeting from H.E. Valentin Inzko, the High Representative of the international community in BiH. Mr. Inzko in his letter finds that taking into consideration all challenges faced by the BiH Central Election Commission due to COVID-19 pandemics all the institutions of BiH, at all levels of authority, must entirely cooperate with the BiH Central Election Commission and refrain from undermining this institution by challenging the legitimacy of its newly elected members. Unless otherwise decided by the competent court, the newly elected members of the BiH Central Election Commission are full members of this institution and their role must not be undermined.
