Candidate for the minister of finance and treasury of BiH meets the necessary conditions for appointment to the post in the BiH Council of Ministers

Sarajevo, 30.06.2023 - The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina has at today's 50th session considered the Report on the verification of candidate for Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina has on Friday, June 23, 2023 received the act of the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, submitting the completed forms, prescribed by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for a candidate for the position of minister in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with Article 10c and 10d point b) of the Law on the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Following the verification procedure, the Central Election Commission of BiH has today issued a certificate that Srđan Amidžić, the candidate for the position of Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, meets all the necessary conditions prescribed by the provisions of Article 1.6, 1.7, and 4.2 of the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina for appointment to function in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Note:

By inspecting the database of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was determined that Srđan Amidžić holds a mandate of a counselor in Banja Luka City Assembly won at the  Local Elections, from the candidates' list of the political entity ALLIANCE OF INDEPENDENT SOCIAL DEMOCRATS - SNSD - MILORAD DODIK.

Article 1.8, paragraph (4)of the BiH Election Law sets forth that one person can hold maximum one (1) directly elected public office, or maximum one (1) directly elected office and one (1) indirectly elected office, unless otherwise specified by the Law. It is also incompatible to hold at the same time one directly or indirectly elected office and one position in an executive body of authority, except in the period until executive bodies of authority elected at the regular elections in the same electoral cycle are constituted. It is also incompatible to hold more than one position in an executive body of authority.
