Sarajevo, 25.07.2023 – A working meeting of the management of the Agency for Identification Documents, Records and Data Exchange with representatives of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held yesterday in Sarajevo. The meeting was attended by Dr. Suad Arnautović, the president and members of the BiH CEC, Mr. Vlado Rogić, Dr. Ahmet Šantić, Mr. Željko Bakalar and Mr. Jovan Kalaba, with associates and representatives of the Agency headed by the director, Prof. Dr. Almir Badnjević and the head of the Sarajevo Regional Center, Mr. Vujica Dražen.
The interlocutors discussed the project “EU support to the pilot project for the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, the application for passive voter registration, the Integrated Methodology and the program for processing and keeping records of the Central Voters’ Register, which is a joint document of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina and IDDEEA. An understanding was reached between the two institutions that it is necessary to undertake the necessary activities in order to fulfill the prerequisites for the completion of the pilot project as soon as possible and to organize a simulation of the electoral process.
Up to now, the application for passive voter registration has been improved. It was agreed to revise the joint document of the Integrated Methodology and Program for Processing and Keeping Records of the Central Voters’ Register, which prescribes in detail the tasks and obligations of the two institutions.
The Agency for Identification Documents, Records and Data Exchange presented its capacities and expressed its full readiness for all the mentioned projects and activities.
It was agreed that in the future regular meetings of the two institutions will be held every two months, and more often if necessary.
