Meeting between the Central Election Commission of BiH and Ambassador Anton Pacurețu

Sarajevo, 11.09.2023 - A meeting between the members of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ambassador of the Embassy of Romania in Bosnia and Herzegovina H.E. Anton Pacurețu was held today in the premises of the BiH CEC.

The interlocutors discussed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania. President of the BiH Central Election Commission Dr. Suad Arnautović informed H.E. Ambassador Pacurețu on the Decision of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina dated July 31, 2023 approving signing of the Memorandum and authorizing the president of the Central Election Commission of BiH to sign it.

Romania, which is a member of the European Union, uses digital technologies at polling stations: an electronic system for voter identification, tablets for the process of recording counting at the polling station and tabulating the results, therefore the experiences of the Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania are extremely useful for the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The cooperation between the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Embassy of Romania in Bosnia and Herzegovina was assessed as very good.

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed its gratitude for the support provided by the Embassy of Romania to the work and activities of the BiH CEC.
