Sarajevo, 14 October 2024 – Today, the Central Election Commission of BiH has issued an Order for the control of results from manual vote counting and electronic vote counting via electronic scanners. In accordance with its ex officio responsibilities, the Commission orders the Main Counting Centre to retrieve materials from the Central Election Commission’s warehouse for the purpose of verifying the results of both manual and electronic vote counting. The Centre is instructed to conduct an assessment and determine the actual status for polling stations in the basic constituencies of Novi Grad and Prijedor, as detailed below:
Basic constituency of Novi Grad:
Basic constituency of Prijedor:
Based on the identified discrepancies between manual counting and counting conducted by optical scanners in the results of electronic and manual vote counting, the Central Election Commission of BiH has determined that there are sufficient grounds to warrant a verification of the actual voting results between manual and electronic voting, in order to protect the integrity of the election process.
The Central Election Commission of BiH appointed today eight coordinators on behalf of the Commission to coordinate and oversee the postponed elections in the basic constituencies of Fojnica, Kiseljak, Kreševo, and Konjic. This decision was made to ensure effective coordination and oversight of the postponed elections in these municipalities, scheduled to take place on 20 October 2024.
In relation to the conduct of the postponed elections in Fojnica, an Instruction has been adopted concerning the additional protection of ballots which includes the use of an additional stamp on the ballots indicating “postponed elections.” This measure has been introduced by the Central Election Commission due to the fact that the ballots were already in the possession of the Polling Station Committees albeit without any doubt regarding the compromise of the election materials.
